What is Office 365?
Office 365 is the district's cloud based solution for email, file storage, collaboration, and a desktop office suite. First off, all of your email has been migrated from our email servers to Microsoft's secure cloud based servers. This allows every user to have 25 times more email storage space and alleviates the cost and technical issues of hosting email in our district. The second part of Office 365 includes free access to up to five copies of the Office 2013 suite on any of your personal devices. This is a great benefit for staff since Office 2013 retails for $299 per copy normally. The third part of Office 365 is the ability to create and edit Word, Excel, and Powerpoint files right in your browser. Your document are accessible wherever and whenever you need them. The fourth part of Office 365 includes free secure unlimited online storage for your documents in OneDrive for Business. If you are familiar with DropBox or Google Drive, OneDrive for Business is very similar. But using OneDrive for Business for your work documents has many advantages. Microsoft has provided us unlimited storage for each OneDrive for Business folder. In addition, OneDrive files can easily be shared with others in the district. There are many other features to Office 365 such as Office 365 Groups, OneNote, Lync, Office 365 Video, online Projects, Sites, Office Mix and more! But don't let all the features overwhelm you. If you are using your email, you are already using Office 365! Start exploring the different features and you will see all it has to offer you!
