Students will learn the basic concepts of
Euclidean Geometry. Students will learn to visualize and verbalize mathematical
relationships. Students will build on the ideas of inductive and deductive
reasoning to prove geometric axioms. Students will explore practical
applications of algebraic expressions and geometric properties using the 5-step
problem solving technique. Students will learn invariant properties of
geometric figures and graphing lines, circles, and parabolas. Students will
explore properties and formulas of geometry and trigonometry including
transformations. Calculators, computer software, and other learning materials
will be integrated throughout the class.
